Divided
Divided is part of the ‘Vanishing Words’ series, illustrating the partisan chasm currently occurring in the United States. A split solidly aligned by political party and where there is little to no compromise or overlap on issues. An article in The New York Times listed words that have disappeared from government websites since the beginning of the new administration. The vanishing words reflect the themes and topics that divide us. The words illustrated on Divided were selected by a group of friends from the list of removed words.
Words used:
underserved, racism, Native American, female, environmental quality, pollution, health equity, immigrants, climate crisis, inequality, disability, polarization, diversity, traumatic, discrimination, advocacy and prejudice
