My deep love for textiles started at a very early age, I began sewing at 4 and knitting at 5. While in high school art class I explored my passion for woven textiles on a four-harness floor loom. Weaving lead me to the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth to major in Textile Design.
A culturally and artistically rich work career at the Peabody Essex Museum in merchandising allowed me access to a broad range arts and artists. While working, I continued my personal educational at the Boston Architectural College and Massachusetts College of Art and Design. I also trained with masters in the fiber and basketry fields at workshops organized by the National Basketry Organization, Snowfarm the New England Craft Program and North Country Studio Workshops.
Current creative textile pursuits are firmly focused on contemporary sculptural weaving done with paper using traditional and contemporary basketry techniques. These sculptures are concept driven and most often tied to topics that are very personal.
